Multiple training videos are provided & can be reviewed, but few sales techniques, loss prevention, and remerchandising are not consistently practiced or encouraged. Also, sales are distributed equally among the associates so individual recognition is obsolete. The company prides itself on giving clients an exceptional experience & yet there is little if any SALES training. The best part is getting to know the wonderful clients and great friendships among the associates! HOWEVER. Therefore, the associates are able to be a part of all the happenings on the sales floor from selling, cashiering, merchandising, and processing freight. WHBM is a boutique style shopping experience. They would rather hire managers with no brand knowledge or experience than promote from within.ĭO READ THE GOOD & THE BAD.The company offers great benefits. Overall this is a great place to work, positive and fun atmosphere, amazing coworkers, but little to no room for advancement. Even though I have a degree from a four year college and many years of management experience in a retail setting, I was told I was not qualified enough when I inquired about the management position at our store. Right before COVID we gained a store manager, but it was very difficult as she wanted to overturn and redo all of the strategies our team had in place for success, and I felt as though we were a very successful team as is because we met and exceeded nearly all of our goals. For almost my entire duration there, we didn’t have an actual store manager, yet my team and I consistently met and exceeded our sales goals. I really enjoyed my time there and my coworkers and assistant manager were amazing to work for. When Covid hit I was furloughed, so eventually I found another job, but if not for COVID I think I would still be working here. I worked as a sales lead at WHBM for a few months before the COVID pandemic began.
